Putting the cart before the horse - Do what is right for you

Take the course and get your certification before worrying about working at home. If the only reason you want to code is because you might get to work at home, don't do it. Your school/program would be the place to inquire about jobs, some of them have placement programs and externships. Don't get discouraged based on what you read here. I work onsite for a multispecialty clinic and we are always looking for coders. Many of our people work from home but they like you to have a year of onsite experience first.
