My daughter worked at a county agency with disadvantaged adults. She told me BOLI (Bureau of Labor and Industries) should be able to help with nonpayment. Apparently, BOLI will pay you and then go after company for payment. And, if someone had a claim with Unemployment and started work with Keystrokes or elsewhere and the work stopped, you could go back to UI and reopen same claim, not have to start a new one. This is all state by state, but it certainly couldn't hurt to look into it. Good luck. Although we have loved this work, if we wanted to work for free, we'd be volunteering somewhere.
