You can do acute care - My 2 cents

Posted: Apr 21st, 2018 - 1:12 pm In Reply to: Here is Why - see msg

If you have only done clinic, you can do acute care, just use your reference materials and look things up until you become familiar. I went from acute care to jobs where I only transcribed one specialty to multispecialty, then radiology and back. If you have the aptitude and the skills, you can learn the vocabulary. Don't be offended in regard to testing, everyone requires it, even on site. Employers need to know if you are qualified, as stated above, unfortunately some people don't tell the truth on their resumes. I have a ton of experience and if I needed a job, I would definitely test. Coders sometimes have to do pre-employment tests too it isn't an insult.
