If they are offering people buyouts, they are getting ready to lay people off. The course of action generally is offering a buyout/severance, early retirement, placement in another position within the organization if possible, and layoff. I went through this when my organization converted to Epic. It happened gradually, but eventually transcription was eliminated. Sorry, but the handwriting is on the wall, and I think you can probably expect all the Mayo sites to eventually make the change.
