It is not VR and it is not just point and click. Epic also includes billing, appointment scheduling and a number of other functions in their system, it is also medical record management. They never planned for transcription but there are workarounds. Many providers where I work still dictate, there is no VR built into Epic. Many of them use Dragon and there is need for editing. It is really at the discretion of the facility in regard to what they want to do. We outsource and many use Dragon so having transcriptionists on site is a moot point. There is a lot of misinformation regarding Epic in this forum, a lot of people don't understand what it is.
