Consultant says - MTs for Change Posted: Feb 16th, 2018 - 1:33 am In Reply to: Please let us know what happens - Anon
Labor collective bargaining consultant says if low numbers are striking/walking off sick or otherwise, it will be less meaningful, and could impede future efforts. The consultants will look for some options for us to better organize, as we all know this has been an issue for us for years. They will get back to us in a couple of weeks.
So, each person has to decide what they want to do about this for iMedX.
Another interim option which may feel safer for some right now, is for any/all MT/Es to participate in the "contact your MTSO CEO/HR week" during telecommuter appreciation week, Feb 25 to March 3rd, (or sooner if feel more urgent!) and invite them to visit the MT Coalition web site, reference the letter that was sent out which is on the web site resource page, and say you'd like them to dialogue how to improve conditions and pay so that we can make a living and thrive, while still making the company successful. On this website are some references, too, that talk about our rights to organize, under "Worker Rights" which doesn't have to be a union right now, but you should be at least able to talk to your employer about changes you would like to see and not feel fearful about your job because you do that. Asking for more pay doesn't usually result in termination. It's just dialogue and discussion with them at this point, but gives them the message that a lot of employees want this.
Each person's situation is different though, so have to decide what you are okay with participating.
