That is great she does that and especially at her age, but I do not want to clean houses or work retail or give out samples at Costco or be a companion, so I stick with being an MT. Now I am retired, age 72 and get SS, so that helps. I pay all my bills with my SS and keep what I make transcribing as my living money. I have two MT jobs, so I use one for groceries, etc., and I try to hang onto the other for savings. It is a juggling act to say the least.
I don't like being an IC, I don't like the pay we get, but somehow, I have wonderful accounts. I keep my fingers crossed every day.
Yes you can make more money or the equivalent, I guess you just need to pick your battle.
