$10 an hour jobs are a dime a dozen and less stressful than being an MT and less abusive and you are an employee. The job of an MT anymore is a job for retirees or stay at homes, who need grocery money, etc. It is not a real job in any sense and to think you can survive on being even a FT MT is very difficult.
I hate what has happened, but it has and no matter what, things will not change, in fact, may get worse. I am sure in 5 years this profession will no longer exist, it is dying a little bit every day and every year. Just look back over the past 5 years and see how it has declined.
