It would be considered "misconduct connected with the work," because you are willfully disobeying a work rule that has been put into place by this company, and therefore you would be denied unemployment compensation.
On the other hand, if you never hear about any complaints from the client, you can pretty well figure that this company put this policy in place to steal additional money from our paychecks and for no other reason than that.
