Well, after 15 years as an MT, I was let go because EPIC/voice recognition, took my job. Anyway, I found a position as a Communication Officer with my county's Sheriff Office. There are also positions available with cities or towns. I found my ability to listen and type transitioned into this position quite nicely. This kind of work will never be taken over by a computer as a CO has to be compassionate and empathetic. The work is very interesting and very fast paced. You might enjoy it. Just a suggestion. I am almost 60 and they still took a chance on me. I find I love the work and feel fulfilled after a shift helping people in some of the most stressful times of their lives.
