Question about IC as an MT - MT26 Posted: Dec 23rd, 2017 - 5:09 am
Scenario: Person does well in quality and great on line count. Takes a job as an IC. Receives no offer letter, however, is aware of the 4cpl editing rate. Required to be on IM. As an IC, no benefits, no social security taken out, etc. Here's the kicker: Micromanaged as to schedule. Not talking about window of time, talking about the exact hour of time. Micromanaged regarding breaks. Phone calls and IMs. What is wrong with this picture. Not looking for standard reply including you can quit, they have the right to ask you to be on because they have workflow needs. I am strictly saying a great contractor, willing to commit to a window, but totally blasted regarding the very minute of times worked, and totally blasted regarding breaks taken even though these breaks were told to company prior. Please advise. Looking for sound advice. Thanks.
