Question about being able to listen when OUT of Inscribe. - sm

I apologize if this was already asked. I scrolled down and couldn't find it anywhere.

I'd like to be able to listen to the dictation while researching a word or something on google. As soon as I leave the Inscribe screen, my foot pedal is dead. Does anyone know if there is a setting for this?
