Hyphenating prefixes - ILuvWords

Posted: Dec 18th, 2017 - 6:46 pm

I know this used to be a rule, but I can't find current documentation about it. Does anybody know if this is still a thing?

"Do use a hyphen with prefixes ending in a or i and a base word beginning with the same letter. Example - anti-inflammatory."

I got feedback on an audit saying "intra-abdominal" should not be hyphenated.
