A work stoppage of even 4 hours would have an impact. - It would show what could happen. Posted: Dec 15th, 2017 - 7:22 am In Reply to: Can't believe I actually agree with Jay Vance - MT
As things stand now, both MTSO and client take comfort in their confidence that WE CANNOT TAKE AN ORGANIZED ACTION on our own behalf,
Show them that this isn't true, and let them know that more - and worse - will come if conditions and compensation do not improve IMMEDIATELY.
When people think about a "job action" they imagine weeks and weeks out of work, and that encourages binary thinking - black/white, yes/no, we can/we can't.
I recommend this advice in ALL areas of your life: Reject binary thinking - very few except the most simple situations are binary. LOOK FOR THE THIRD WAY. That's where the answers lie.
Here, the third way is BRIEF job action to smack the other players in this domain upside the head and make them THINK.
