Wow, have you been living in an cave? Okay, here ya go:
1) AAMT = American Association for Medical Transcription (later AHDI, Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity). They were supposedly lobbying on behalf of its members (who paid high membership fees) to help American MTs. As time went on, it became obvious that they were working for large MTSOs, many of whom offshored.
2) American Manufacturers' Association (AMA). A large group that was supposedly lobbying on behalf of -- gee, what was that again!? Oh yes -- American manufacturers. Look around. Most manufacturing is now in China.
