I have never worked for M-Modal but I'm sorry to hear this. I was laid off from an MT job that I had for 18 years at the age of 58 and yes it's tough to get hired when you are in your 50s. I ended up working for the same facility but did have to take a pay cut so I would caution you not to set you salary expectations too high. Yes there are jobs but unless you have an RN degree or are a certified, experienced coder most of the jobs, at least from what I can see, are entry level service jobs for low pay, even administrative assistants don't get paid very well anymore, MT is not in a bubble in regard to low pay. I never made $25 an hour doing MT, you were one of the lucky ones.
