Yes they hold it against you and I wish I had done the same thing. Hindsight 20/20 I guess. Then after you do start getting checks (I have gotten 2) you start getting threatening letters in the mail saying you have to come into the office and participate in reemployment services. It is crazy. They will not leave you alone (at least in Georgia where I am). The threat at the bottom of the letters is Failure to participate my result in loss of your unemployment insurance benefits.
