you the hourly rate you're supposed to be paid. If you work on multiple VA accounts, make sure they tell you those respective hourly rates, also known as the Wage Determination Rates. Make sure you are paid for that work according to the time you spend on each account, NOT according to how many lines you transcribe. When you notify Alpha at the end of each pay period, you are supposed to submit the hours worked. It looks like some of the MTs only submit an invoice for lines transcribed. That is fine for IC work on non-SCA contracts, but NOT for work done on VA accounts.

Look through the boards here regarding information on Alpha and educate yourself on what service employees working on federal contracts covered by the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act are entitled to in terms of hourly pay and a separate hourly rate for fringe benefits, holiday pay, vacation, etc.

If you have any questions, I would urge you to call either the Department of Labor or ask your questions here as there are many MTs on the message board who have worked on VA contracts and are well aware of how some MTSOs try to circumvent federal rules, keeping their MTs in an information blackout while enriching themselves unfairly.
