legal transcription - former legal

55 cents per audio minute is awful pay. As an experienced MT you should be able to command close to a dollar per audio minute for general transcription, clear audio, one or two speakers. Legal transcription should pay anywhere from $1 per audio minute for two speakers to more depending on the company. Per page rates from $1.25, up to $3.50 to 4 or more if you have your own clients. This can be set by the court system. Look for work with insurance companies or lawyers who work for insurance companies defending companies or lawyers who defend plaintiffs in personal injury or workers comp cases. InfraWare has taken over StenTel's accounts. Allegis has accounts. You're not a newbie. No 55 cents for you!
