Because of their own mismanagement and greed they created this mess and want to pass it along to employees who are already terrorized by the threat of imminent layoff as well.
I say sh&tc#n those emails and only do what you can with as little stress on yourself as possible. Look at it this way, even if you did qualify for their "awards" they would probably find a way to screw you out of them anyway. After what they have already done, I wouldn't believe a word they say.
