I am almost 60 and have been searching for another career for at least 3 years. Almost impossible BUT I did take an assessment with the Sheriff Department in my county and passed. This is for a 911 operator position. Have an interview in 2 weeks, so keeping my fingers crossed. Seems a natural transition really. Maybe you could try in your county. Don't really think age is a factor here. They are always looking for people.
