When I worked in an office, I expressed my concerns about a doctor's (not a surgeon) slurring and losing train of thought, etc, and was told the doc had a neuro condition (ALS, maybe?) that was progressing. A short time later, the doc retired due to the condition. Make sure you have proof, otherwise it becomes a potentially damaging rumor.
