Who knows? Nuance will never give the real reasons behind the layoffs. Bottom line is, they think it will improve their bottom line. The speculation seems to be that the work went more automated - Dragon. Lots of posts here and elsewhere about it. And, yes, TSMs got the ax too. It's all about profit for Nuance. I have seen some posts about Nuance layoffs in other countries but really have no way to confirm that. Good riddance, I say. Nuance is awful. I'm honestly surprised they laid off as opposed to firing, which would make it hard to get UE.
