misclassified by the personnel department.
It was described as a clerk II position (no typing requirement) and involved 100% transcription with those old blue bands and IBM pre-selectric typewriters.
The boss gave me a chance, and I spent months looking up every term in a medical dictionary, asking residents about things, and leaning to type, and I've done it ever since. Once upon a time made over 70K a year. I still love it.
