My metrics were fine, I am not in a high minimum wage state, I worked some of the harder to staff hours, like late Saturday night, they were not paying for health insurance on me, my state is definitely pro business (meaning they do not have to pay out PTO, etc). In other words, I would have been one of the cheaper employees to hold on to, and I was one of those let go. I have been hemming and hawing about quitting for years so this kind of forced me into it a little sooner than I was ready. Am I a bit anxious about making ends meet, yes, but I am also ready to embrace my new future.
