About 25 years ago switched from a mouse to a trackball and never went back to the mouse. With a trackball you simply move a ball around with your index finger, rather than having to pick up and move the mouse repeatedly. I've use the Logitech Marble Mouse which is about $38 and I only need to replace it about every 1-2 years.
