I didn't read the ad but the temporary (may turn into permanent) position is pretty common in many occupations. I've had 2 "temp" jobs like that on site and was hired for permanent jobs both times. Actually most jobs are temporary if you think about it, with probationary periods and residing in states that are "at will" employers. If a person doesn't like the terms of temp to permanent they don't need to apply for the job, that is between employee and employer. I don't find it demeaning and I'm not sure why it offends you, better to assess the workload and staffing needs than to over-hire. I can't speak to the other things but I am glad you are getting out.
