Skyscription, TTS--and the other MTSOs out of work - anon Posted: Aug 17th, 2017 - 4:59 am
Since the Nuance cyber attack, all MTSOs primarily doing work for a larger MTSO (like Nuance, MModal, or ImedX) have been screwed in terms of work volumes. Nuance lost so many clients when their systems failed (no doubt as a result of their own carelessness), that they are struggling to find enough work now to support all the management and middle management they have already in place. They are optimistic that the work will return, so they are stringing along companies like TTS and Skyscription (just to name a couple) with piddly amounts of work and lots of promises that the work is coming back. These companies who were built primarily on outsourced work from the "Big Three" are trying to make critical decisions about their own future in light of their current situation and Nuance's promises. I think the industry is changed forever, but it may turn around. But that's the position of the smaller MTSOs who hitched their wagon to one of the "Big Three". In the end, the "Big Three" look after themselves first and foremost!
