I took my SS a bit early, had originally planned to wait until 70 to get the extra 8% a month. But then I realized that I had no guarantee of making it to 70, and that if I did, the 5 years that I had already drawn my SS, which I earned - nobody is GIVING me anything - still puts me money ahead. Also, not to be gloomy, but just practical, are you sure your hubs has you on his pension plan so that you will get his pension if anything unexpected happens to him? Many things can change in 4 years, just prepare for all the contingencies. I am still working, but I'm single and no way I could survive on the SS alone. Everything keeps going up in price except my MT earning!
