Resigning process - KBs Mom

It's reached the point of no return. I am leaving this poor excuse for an employer. Can someone tell me the steps to take? I assume I will email or call my latest OM and inform her. Do they need 2 weeks' notice? I'd love to tell them I'm done today and wash my hands of it. I plan to use up what pitiful PTO I have this week. What happens after I tell them I'm quitting? Anyone done this at N before (as if I even have to ask).
