About Autocorrect vs. Shorthand functions... - still chugging along

Posted: Aug 1st, 2017 - 7:25 am In Reply to: Both are excellent with significant tradeoffs. - I chose SH way over 15 years ago

with Autocorrect, you can add something to an already populated word and have it expand for you to something else.

For example, bicarbonate needs to become bicarb for a ridiculously verbatim VR account. You can make an autocorrect where bicarbonatee = bicarb, and voila, the original incorrect VR entry is now shortened with minimal effort, the simple addition of "e" to the end of the word. I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get Shorthand to do that during my free trial. Is it possible?
