I know nothing about Medent, but I assume you can block and copy it so if you have microsoft word (any version) copy your report from "Medent" and past it in word, click on file properties, click on statistics and it should give you a character count, one with spaces, one without. I am sorry this is such a clumsy answer but I simply do not know anything about "Medent" but I hope this helps you.
