Transcription Company Pay - Jellybean Posted: Jul 23rd, 2017 - 3:06 pm
"The pay is not bad, at about $.45 per audio minute." That's what a website mentioning work at home job opportunities says about a transcription company.
However, I don't understand how less than half a dollar an audio minute is considered decent pay. I mean, this isn't editing but "regular" transcription, so doesn't it take on average about 4 times the amount of time as the audio time to get the job done? That is, if it's a 1-minute audio, it should take about 4 minutes to complete, right? And so one should expect to complete about 15 minutes of audio and 1 hour. Therefore, $.45 x 15 equals about $7.50 an hour?
Or did I miscalculate somewhere?
