If the IC pay rate was higher than employee - to cover

I have not seen IC rates high enough to cover the 401K, any time off, etc. You want to make sure you pay plenty to Social Security so that you will have a good benefit when you retire.

One IC company I worked for never let me know when my assigned docs would go on vacations--even month long trips. A lot of the docs did their dictating on Fridays, dumping all the dictation for the weekend TAT. Your work may be assigned differently.

Now, when my schedule is over, I walk away and do not think about it again.
