that expands to "the patient." You are paid for what the final document looks like but only the black characters in VBC, NO spaces. You can keep using your expander and use it to the hilt because you are going to have to make up for not being paid for those spaces. This is the second post like this where someone thought that you would only be paid for the shorts and not what it expands to. This is absolutely not true. For instance, I have one short for a client that is WKE, which expands to We will keep an eye on that. How could an MTSO count characters in the document with the shorts unexpanded, and then have to expand it again to send it to the client, and how would they know what WKE was supposed to mean. So, whatever your final document looks like before you upload it is what is counted by whatever method the MTSO chooses.
