wow here's an incredible thought - can you imagine what our pay per keystroke would b

if we were actually paid per keystroke? As for how many of those keystrokes would be in error and deleted, errors and backspacing are still labor, consume time, and are part of the process. Office workers don't get their pay docked every time they speak an incorrect word, forget to make a phone call, throw out a piece of paper, fail to read someone's mind, or fix their bosses' mistakes before they embarrasses themselves or hurt somebody. If we kept an accurate count of our total daily keystrokes just imagine what fraction of a cent we would be paid for each. Add to that every second of unpaid "other" we do to get a clearer picture of the incredible amount of skilled input we cram into every hour of our work day.
