There are certain circumstances where unemployment will pay an IC for a situation beyond the ICs control. I am sure that the cyberattack will be one of them, just as it was when the economy took a nosedive and many people were left without work and could not find another job. There are always extenuating circumstances, and it never hurts to apply. I know many who were able to receive UE and still were ICs.
