If you have been sending and receiving emails with your company and you have your contact information in a signature line with your hours, those communications should be time and date-stamped proof of what you and your company agreed were your working hours, including (or especially?) if you were an IC being treated like a scheduled employee. Seems to me if you were working a schedule, those are the hours you should be paid for.
