The fundamental flaw in this argument - for patient care

Posted: Jul 5th, 2017 - 7:46 am In Reply to: Worth Ethics versus Pay - no name

Is that the corrupt companies have created an atmosphere and working conditions that have made it impossible for MTs to adhere to a strict code of ethics. The push for production has systematically eroded that. For example, the years of urging MTs to "guess" at patient info based on past dictations is a huge one and there are others.

It is an idealistic idea that we would all suck it up for the sake of patient care, but very dangerous.

If we help cover this up, the problems and patient care/confidentiality issues will continue to be hidden.

I think a better way to show responsibility in this crisis is to do your best if you are already working but don't rush and don't take temp work to help the dishonest and corruption continue. Just my 2 cents.
