I don't do VR but those are the line rates they pay for that and, you're right, they are all short jobs. I went to this company because other MTs told me I would do okay money wise because I was fast. Before VR came around and I started losing clients to that, I had as many as 19 docs at one time and, with the exception of one hospital account, transcribed from tapes, printed out reports and every other AM drove around from office to office dropping off reports and picking up tapes. It was a hassle but I loved it, and would give anything to be able to go back to those days when I felt appreciated. I used to transcribe a minimum of 230-250 lines/hr and up to 2000 lines/day. With this company I was lucky if I could meet their 600 line/day minimum in 6 hours because of the horrible audio, etc. Literally was making less than minimum wage some days. I'm glad to hear you landed another job. Good for you and I wish you the best of luck. I hope for all the MTs not getting out altogether, that things get better.
