I don't know if I've heard of that option before, but I have to say in theory, that is a GREAT idea. We would all be shareholders/stockholders with a stake in a company with dividends paid out for taking slightly less to invest in the coop. Sure, we would have to pay administrators, but as we would elect members of the board, we would control who is hired and how much they are paid.
Hmmm. Interesting concept. Trouble is, right now so many MTs are struggling just to keep a roof over their heads and no one has the money or, more importantly, the energy to invest in forming a coop. It would take start up fees and legal fees. Kudos to you though -- a coop is a fantastic idea.
I wish we could have banded together 15 years ago and done this, when we had the money, the energy and the resources to do it. No one saw though what was coming. :(
