Epic is an electronic health record so hospitals/clinics can share records electronically. The clinic I had worked for went to Epic and we still worked there until Nuance took over, but they are still using transcription services. In my experience most doctors don't like the point and click or editing their own notes, so there is still quite a bit of work out there. The younger doctors might try the point and click method, but the older docs will still probably still want to dictate, just from my own experience. But I could be wrong! Just trying to offer some info to make this not such a scary thing. In fact iMedX has an account from Amphion that had Epic already and my coworker still works on that account. Now if we could just get these big companies to value our work life would be good! If this was a man-dominated field this would never be happening....just my thought....
