supported even the most austere living environment, there was no longer any point. I took early retirement and even though my SS payout is lower than it would've been if I'd waited, it's still about twice what I was making as a home-based MT. The payoff is 10 hours of sleep every night, better health, no responsibility, and ZERO stress.
About 2 years after I retired, I was told about an in-house opening in the city by a friend who worked at the same place. I turned it down. Once freedom has been achieved, who wants to get up at dawn, ride the subway into the city and be bullied by a supervisor... just for MONEY? I've discovered that freedom is better than money.
