Ophthalmology Words and Orthopedic Words, "disc" is a variation of "disk" in both with word lists following "disk" in both. Many of the brand names use "disc" in the orthopedic book, which is totally confusing.

When I first started transcribing, lo, those many years ago, my boss told me to use "disc" for the eyes and "disk" for the back. She said, "You see with your eyes, so remember to use disc with a C for the eyes." It's just anecdotal, I know, but that's how I've always done it.
