No you aren't asking too much, but you are looking at the wrong job for what you want. If you want a decent job, get away from being an MT, because these companies could care less about any of us.
I have learned that the hard way. No matter how long you work for them, no matter what you do in terms of helping out, no matter if your QA is 100% and line count is off the charts, it won't matter.
Get out and never look back. Let them burn!
