I've finally lucked out and found a job that's totally EditScript with good to excellent speakers and an abundance of work. In this situation, the VR is actually productive because of the speakers. It works like it's supposed to, i.e., with just a few edits and very few lookups. So yes, after about 10 years of VR, I'm able to say it is a productive tool.
