Epic - Ruth

Hi Aaron,

Every facility where I have brought up Epic or McKesson, almost all the documentation and ordering is done by a clinical person: MD, PA, NP, RN and even the CNA and techs have a specific screen to enter their info.

Most of the practitioners use Dragon speak and/or templates to capture their progress notes, consult notes etc.

Some states allow Scribes to do the documentation piece and the doc has to counter sign.

All that being said, I don't remember any transcriptionists back when I was a floor nurse, and when I became IT and traveled installing and training Epic the question of transcriptionists never came up.

Sorry, I know that is not much help.
