question about quality - OldMT Posted: Apr 23rd, 2017 - 11:29 pm
Just a general question: transcriptionists nowadays are being micromanaged and scrutinized until it actually affects our performance. So many posts even say that people are being put on "probation" etc. because of errors, and it is true that the companies seem to pursue even the slightest errors (even noncritical ones) with a passion, and several posts have related how the person has been laid off due to "poor quality." My question: If experienced MLS are being let go, who replaces them? If it is foreign workers or newbies, don't the errors get even worse? It almost seems as if the big MTSOs have a "hire-fire-hire-fire" mentality, but surely that can't be profitable....so we often complain about outsourced work but are they firing the outsourced workers right and left? Because surely their work must be absolutely horrible quality....just one of those questions that occupy an idle mind.
