My suggestion would be to avoid getting into MT, you will not make any money and even though you will not be on your feet as you were when you were nursing, sitting in a chair all day takes its toll. All the jobs are production based now, which means you can't be up and down from your desk. With your background, I was thinking that maybe you could get an IT-related job consulting or as a triage nurse where you could answer phone calls instead of actual hands on nursing. A lot of insurance companies hire nurses and there are jobs in clinical documentation that pay well. That is how I would recommend leveraging your medical and tech background.
