My situation has been reversed. I worked from home as a hospital employee until my department was outsourced. I liked it except for the social isolation and occasional downtime. I've been back on site for a couple of years in a medical records job and I think they took all the problem employees they could find and put them in my department, talk about the coworkers from hell but I digress, I have about 3 years until full retirement. For me the ideal job would be a couple of days working at home and a couple of days on site but I know I'll never find that. The grass is greener on the other side of the fence.
